Discover the extraordinary world of the Loulé Salt Rock Gem Mine! Venture out!
Learn more about the history of the rocksalt mine, located in loulé 230 m deep and admire 230 million-year-old geological formations
Enjoy a walking tour of 1,3 km inside the mine and learn about the old and current mining processes;
Discover the geological importance of this mine in the context of the region and the rocksalt applications for human uses through history
Tour interpreted by a guide in English, French and Portuguese. Provision of helmet, flashlight and waistcoat;
Who can attend:
Children from 8 years old and participants with full mobility.
Not recommended for visitors with reduced mobility.
It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing and closed sports shoes (temperature inside the mine of approx. 23º C).
